A 2006 Camargo Residential Fellow, Sharon Kinoshita is Professor of Literature at the University of California, Santa Cruz, specializing in medieval French and Mediterranean literatures. She has authored "Medieval Boundaries", co-authored "Marie de France: A Critical Companion", and co-edited the "Blackwell Companion to Mediterranean History". With Brian Catlos, she co-directs the Mediterranean Seminar, which has organized numerous collaborative projects, including 4 NEH Summer Institutes and a 5-year University of California Multicampus Research Grant. She is the translator of Marco Polo’s "Description of the World" (Hackett 2016) and is currently writing on Marco Polo and the Global Middle Ages.
