[End-of-Residency] Floy Krouchi: Studies for FKBass solo I

Soloist piece for augmented bass with integrated technology
Monday, November 4, 2019 at 7pm
Camargo Foundation, 15 avenue de l'Amiral Ganteaume, Cassis

During her stay at the Camargo Foundation, and with the support of Gmem, contemporary music center in Marseille, Floy Krouchi is working on writing a first concert piece for the FKBass, an augmented bass with integrated technology designed specifically for her practice. This new instrument, developed in co-production with Césaré, national center for musical creation, is inspired by the composer's research stays in India with Pandit Hindraj Divekar, Rudra Veena's master and her practice of electroacoustic composition. Floy accompanies this writing work with a reflection on hybrid lutheries, which give rise to new paradigms for instrumental gesture, writing and composition.

In December 2019, she will go to India for a series of performances, followed by a research and creative stay with Robert Piechaud, researcher at Ircam, around the Rudra Veena, to create a new module for the FKBass.

Floy Krouchi is in residence at the Camargo Foundation from September 10 to November 5, 2019, as part of the Core Program.

Presentation and concert for the end-of-residency on November 4 at 7pm at the Camargo Foundation, with Pierre Fleurence, Digital Music Director.

Free event.
