About the Program

In 2015, Movement Research initiated - in partnership with the Jerome Foundation - a joint residency program at the Camargo Foundation for choregraphers and dance artists. This program provides choreographers with time to conduct research and explore the artistic communities based in the Marseille area, dialogue with peer artists, and immerse themselves in a different cultural and creative context.

Movement Research strives to reflect the cultural, political and economic diversity of its moving community, including artists and audiences alike.

Eligiblity

This program is offered to two artists per year. Applicants must be residents of one of the five boroughs of New York City and have lived there for at least one year prior to the application date. Applicants must be grantees of the Jerome Foundation, and must have been supported by either Movement Research, Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX), Bronx Academy of the Arts and Dance (BAAD!) or Harlem Stage.
Please note that artists who have already received a Movement Research / Jerome at Camargo Choreographer Residency are not eligible to apply again.

Stipend

The total stipend, whether awarded to an individual or an artist team, is of US $5,300 to cover honoraria, travel, food, perdiems, materials and other expenses.
