Residency Program 2023 for Algerian artists

Application deadline: February 28, 2023 at midnight GMT/UTC +1

This program of residencies for creation and research is intended for Algerian visual artists, musicians and writers working and living in Algeria. It was created at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, following the delivery of the Stora report and as part of the implementation of recommendations aimed at appeasing Franco-Algerian memories. The objective of this residency is to promote and facilitate the mobilitý of Algerian artists and to expand their professional and artistic network.

This program is co-conceived by the Cité internationale des arts (Paris), the Fondation Camargo (Cassis) and the Friche la Belle de Mai (Marseille). In collaboration with AM.I, Triangle - Astérides, a contemporary art center of national interest, Fraeme and SACEM, the partners are committed to supporting each winner's project by allowing them to benefit from support, networking and a three-month funded residency in France.
Following this call for applications and the meeting of a jury of professionals from the world of art and culture, six artists (two visual artists, two musicians and two writers) will be selected for residencies of three months each, within the residency venues involved in the program.

Once in residence, the artists are accompanied by the host structure, which is attentive to their needs to ensure the smooth running of their projects. The program partners follow up to ensure continuity throughout the residency. Once the residency is over, the artists are required to provide a report.
