Tess Martin

Filmmaker & Animator, US

Tess Martin is an independent animator who is preoccupied with how time-based media can make us reflect and learn truths about ourselves. She attempts to do this by drawing, painting or sculpting scenes and manipulating them one frame at a time: hand-crafting experiences that blur the boundary between experimental and narrative, and animation, film and art. Themes of her work are perception, mental states, communication and our relationship with the natural world. Tess is based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
