The Institut français promotes French culture internationally, in dialogue with foreign cultures. It promotes initiatives related to various artistic fields, intellectual engagement, cultural and social innovation, and linguistic cooperation. It promotes the French language around the world, as well as the mobility of works of art, artists and ideas.

The Camargo Foundation regularly works with French Institutes around the world (India, Afghanistan, Turkey, etc.) within the framework of residency programs for international artists. The Institut Français collaborates with a dozen prestigious French cultural institutions—including Cité Internationale des Arts, Ballet du Nord, La Friche Belle de Mai, Europajazz, and others—to provide professional guidance and support to multidisciplinary artists residing in Africa and the Caribbean.

In the context of an acute crisis that has hit the Lebanese cultural scene, the Institut Français, the Association des Centres culturels de rencontre and the Institut Français of Lebanon have joined forces to invite 100 Lebanese artists in residence in France, through an emergency program "NAFAS", co-financed by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture.

The objective of this program is to allow 100 Lebanese artists, hard hit in the exercise of their profession, to maintain a creative activity in the framework of cultural exchanges with France. This program aims to support Lebanese artists, creators and cultural professionals by hosting them on the French metropolitan territory for artistic residencies.

Within this program, the Camargo Foundation has welcomed two residents in November of 2021: performance and video artist Nesrine Khodr as well as artist and researcher Alia Hamdan, who will stay in Cassis until February, 2022.
